Farm Road 93

Farm Road 93 between Farm Road 34 and Farm Road 42 will be closed at 8:00 a.m. Monday, August 30th thru 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 2nd for box culvert installation. This will include overnight hours.

Farm Road 197

Farm Road 197 between Farm Road 94 and State Highway AA will be closed at 8:00 a.m. Monday, August 30th thru 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 16th for bridge replacement, weather permitting. This includes overnight hours.

Farm Road 237

Farm Road 237 North of Division will be closed 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily, August 23, 24, 25 & 26th for box culvert installation, weather permitting.

Battlefield

Battlefield Road is open to through traffic. Motorists are asked to obey the construction speed limit through the area as the Contractor is continuing to conduct construction acitivites along the shoulder areas.

We understand that the Battlefield/Blackman Project impacts many folks, including those who use it as their commuting route to work and school as well as those living along the alternate routes. We also know that construction delays as we've experienced make the impact more difficult, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Blackman Rd

Blackman Road is closed to through traffic between Farm Road 156 and Battlefield Road. In order to improve the centerline profile of the existing road and accommodate the roadway widening, the existing road is being raised approximately 8 feet in some areas and lowered as much as 3 feet in other areas. Local access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained.

Due to utility relocation delays and weather delays caused by the record setting winter temperatures, the construction schedule was slowed considerably. However, the contractor is working to get the road portion of the project completed and open to traffic as soon as possible.

Motorists are encouraged to bypass the closure by using Farm Road 193 and Farm Road 156 (Sunset) to access Blackman Road.

Farm Road 45

Farm Road 45 between Farm Road 116 and Farm Road 120 will be closed for Bridge Replacement beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday, July 12th thru approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday, November 12th. Signs will be installed notifying drivers of the closure. Road will be closed until project is complete, approximately 120 days. Includes overnight hours.

Farm Road 128 Kat's Bridge (also known as Prospect Bridge)

Farm Road 128, between Farm Road 45 & Farm Road 51 was Closed Monday October 27, 2008. The road will be closed until further notice. No traffic on bridge.
Current Status
Based on the findings by the County Bridge Inspector and recommendations from the County's engineering consultant, the County has determined that the existing bridge cannot be rehabilitated and reopened to the public. A new bridge must be constructed to replace it. This will require the County to address the archaeological issue. The county is currently working with a cultural resources consultant, as well as Federal and State agencies and the Native American Tribes whose ancestors lived in this area to develop a plan to properly address these sensitive sites. As a part of that process, the County has developed three replacement options for Kat's Bridge. These options are listed in the future projects tab here on the Greene County Highway Departments Website.
