Domestic Relations Officers: DRO's are licensed mental health professionals who conduct investigations to address allegations of child abuse/neglect, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health issues, and/or concerns regarding custodial arrangements for the minor child(ren) in contested family court cases. DRO's also assist in the resolution of contested cases by providing mediation services to families with an emphasis on development of a parenting plan agreeable to both parties. Additionally, two officers operate Greene County's Supervised Access Program, and two officers facilitate the Alternative Dispute Resolution class.
Common Ground Supervised Access Program: The supervised access program provides the following services: supervised visits, supervised exchanges, Co-Parent Conflict Resolution Class, and therapeutic visits (in the presence of a licensed mental health professional i.e. LPC, LCSW).
Alternative Dispute Resolution: Local Rule 2.3 (D) mandates mediation and attendance of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Class. The ADR class is conducted twice a month and provides information about the Family Court process and alternatives to litigation, such as mediation.
Mediation: All Domestic Relations Officers are trained and available to provide mediation services as ordered by the court. DRO's mediate cases that meet income eligible guidelines.
