Arrive Prepared

  • Review the laws relevant to your case (see "Common Laws for Family Court" section)
  • Bring your own pens, paper, and extra copies of all documents
  • Arrive utilizing good hygiene, well groomed, and well dressed
  • Speak when it is your turn. Don't interrupt! You will get your chance to respond to each question and provide your own statement. Answer questions by using "Yes" or "No". Do not provide clarity unless specifically asked.
  • Speak clearly and concisely. Answer only the questions asked of you.
  • Be respectful of all individuals in the courtroom
  • Follow the orders of the court
