Darrell L. Moore - Prosecuting Attorney
Darrell began serving as Greene County Prosecuting Attorney on January 1, 1999. He was born and reared in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Central High School (1975), Southwest Baptist University (1979) and the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Law (1982). Since graduating from law school, he has served as a law clerk at the Missouri Court of Appeals - Southern District, (1982-1983), an attorney in private practice (1984-1985; 1998) and as an assistant and chief assistant prosecuting attorney for Greene County (1983-1984; 1985-1998).
Darrell belongs to and is active in many community organizations including the Ozarks Fighting Back Advisory Board (President of the OFB Agency/Business Coalition, 1994-1995, 1996-1998), the Interagency Task Force on Gangs and Youth Violence (Chairman, 1995, 1999), the Underage Drinking Task Force, and First Baptist Church of Springfield. On the State level, he is a member of the Fight Crime: Invest in Kids Missouri Advisory Committee. Darrell has also served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board and the Mayor's Commission on Children.
Professionally, he is a member of The Missouri Bar, Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, National District Attorneys Association, the Association of Government Attorneys in Capital Litigation, and the Missouri Association of Prosecuting Attorneys. Darrell is also a POST certified instructor who teaches at the Springfield, Missouri Police Academy.
Dan Patterson - Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Dan joined the Greene County Prosecutor's Office on April 1, 1996. Prior to becoming the Chief Assistant in 2003, Dan served as the First Assistant for the Major Crimes Unit. Dan previously specialized in the prosecution of sexual assaults and child abuse and also served the office as a Special Assistant United States Attorney under the Project Safe Neighborhoods program.
Dan is a Major in the Missouri Army National Guard and is currently the Command Judge Advocate for the 110th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade. Dan has been deployed twice: first, in support of the homeland defense mission Operation Noble Eagle and, most recently, as the Deputy Command Judge Advocate for Multi-National Task Force East, Kosovo Forces 10. Dan is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Judge Advocate General’s Corps Advanced Course and the Command & General Staff College. Dan’s military decorations include: the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.
Dan has served as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Missouri Victim Center and chairman of the Interagency Task Force on Gangs and Youth Violence. Dan is a POST certified instructor and teaches at the Springfield Police Academy. Dan is active in the Springfield Sunrise Rotary Club and has chaired the club’s volunteer Character Education program at Wilson's Creek School. Dan is an Eagle Scout and has continued to be active in Scouting as a Den Leader, Assistant Cub Master, and Cub Master for Pack 221 at McBride Elementary School.
Dan is a 1986 graduate of Springfield's Kickapoo High School. He completed his undergraduate degree majoring in Business Administration at Oklahoma State University in 1990 and obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1993, graduating Cum Laude. While attending law school, Dan was a member of and served on the editorial board of the Missouri Law Review.
Vonda Taylor - Office Manager
Vonda graduated from Southwest Missouri State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. Vonda joined the Prosecutor's Office as Misdemeanor Secretary in February, 1985. She was promoted to Office Manager in April, 1985. Vonda went to work for the United States Attorney's Office in August, 1997, but returned to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in January, 1999. Prior to 1985 Vonda worked in the area of education as a teacher, then in office management with a printing firm, and as secretary for an Associate Circuit Judge. Vonda has completed numerous management courses through the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, the Management Development Institute of Southwest Missouri State University, The Legal Education Institute of the Executive Office for United States Attorney's, and Office Administration training through the National College of District Attorneys.
