Persons Crimes
The Persons Crimes Unit prosecutes child physical and sexual abuse, child endangerment, assaults, sexual assaults, rapes, violations of orders of protection, physical elder abuse and domestic violence cases. The Persons Crimes Unit attorneys are:
Casey Clark - First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Casey joined the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in 2005. Casey received his undergraduate degree from Kansas State University in 2001, majoring in Pre-Medicine and Biology, with a minor in Business. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2005. Upon joining our office, Casey prosecuted General Crimes cases including traffic offenses and property crimes. During that time, Casey also received appellate experience which led to him presenting "Dreaded Late Night Phone Calls: What Every Lawyer Needs to Know About Emerging Issues and the Impaired Driver" at the 2007 Missouri Bar/Missouri Judicial Conference Annual Meeting. He was assigned into the Person's Unit in the summer of 2006 and became a Senior Assistant within the unit in August of 2008. Casey prosecutes crimes against children, sexual assaults and forcible rapes, domestic assaults, aggravated stalkings, assaults, and homicides.
In addition to his official duties, Casey is also a certified instructor at the Springfield Police Academy. Casey is a past Board member for the Community Alternative Sentencing Program (C.A.S.P.). Currently, Casey serves on the Child Fatality Review Board and is a student in Leadership Springfield.
Ami Miller - Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Ami joined the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in May 2005. Ami received her undergraduate degree in 2002 from Boston University, graduating with Distinction Honors with a degree in Psychology and a degree in History. In 2005, Ami received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri. Ami has been assigned to the Person's Unit since starting with this office and became a Senior Assistant within the unit in the Fall of 2010. Ami initially prosecuted domestic assaults, harassment/stalking, violations of orders of protection, child endangerment cases, and failure to register as sex offender cases. Ami currently prosecutes domestic assaults, parental kidnappings, adult sex crimes and crimes against children including physical abuse, sexual abuse, and child homicides.
Jonathan Barker - Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Jonathan joined the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in February, 2007. Jonathan received his undergraduate degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, in 2002. Jonathan majored in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Criminal Law, and a minor in Psychology. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law in 2006, where he was a published member of the Law Review. Jonathan was admitted to the Missouri Bar during the fall of 2006. Initially, Jonathan was a prosecutor in the General Crimes Unit where he was responsible for traffic offenses and property crimes. In the fall of 2007, Jonathan was assigned to the Person's Unit and was promoted to Senior Assistant in November, 2010. Jonathan prosecutes assaults, domestic assaults, robberies, weapons offenses, and crimes against children, including sexual assault and forcible rape.
Stephanie Wan - Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Stephanie joined the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in August of 2007. Stephanie received her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, majoring in Women's Studies and English. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2006. Upon graduation, Stephanie worked for the Missouri Attorney General's Office as Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division. There she handled criminal cases on appeal writing appellate briefs and making oral arguments before the Court of Appeals for both the Eastern District and Southern District of Missouri. Stephanie has been a member of the Person's Unit her entire time in our office and was promoted to Senior Assistant in 2011. Stephanie prosecutes domestic assaults, assaults, assaults on law enforcement officers, crimes against children, and sexual crimes. Stephanie also assists with post-conviction relief cases.
In addition to her official duties, Stephanie is also a certified instructor at the Springfield Police Academy and is also responsible, specifically, for teaching "Evidence-Based: Investigating and Prosecuting Domestic Violence Cases Without the Victim" to the Springfield Police Department Academy and the Drury Law Enforcement Academy.
Jessica Hill - Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Jessica joined the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in September 2008. Jessica received her undergraduate degree from Evangel University in 2005 with honors majoring in Government and International Multi-Cultural Studies. Jessica graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from Regent University School of Law, Virginia Beach, Virginia. While at Regent, Jessica served as the Interscholastic Competitions Coordinator for the Moot Court Board and competed in the American Bar Association Moot Court Competition in 2007. Jessica first worked for the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in the summer of 2007 as a Rule 13 intern. After joining our office, Jessica was assigned to the General Crimes Unit where she prosecuted traffic offenses, property crimes, and truancy cases. Jessica was assigned to the Person's Unit in 2010. She currently prosecutes domestic violence, assault, elder abuse, child endangerment, stalking, and violations of orders of protection. Jessica also assists with post-conviction relief cases.
Philip Fuhrman - Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Philip joined the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in August of 2009. He received his undergraduate degree from William Jewell College, majoring in Political Science. Philip received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law in 2009. Philip first worked for the Greene County Prosecutor's Office as a Rule 13 intern during the summer of 2008. Upon graduation, he returned to our office working as a prosecutor in the General Crimes Unit. In January of 2011 he was assigned to the Person's Unit, where he prosecutes domestic assaults, child endangerment, orders of protection violations and stalking.
