The Greene County Prosecutor's Office Child Support Unit is the host county for the Springfield Regional Child Support Office (RCSO). The Springfield RCSO provides judicial services for the Missouri Family Support Division for the counties of Greene, Christian and Taney. As the regional office, the Child Support Unit works in conjunction with each county prosecutor to hold non-custodial parents in all three counties responsible for paying child support. The Child Support Unit prosecutes five types of cases:
- The establishment of paternity for children who are born out of wedlock and the establishment of a child support order for the support of that child;
- The enforcement of existing child support orders;
- The modification of certain child support orders in Greene County;
- Initiating and responding to cases from other states pursuant to the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act;
- And other requests made by the State of Missouri Family Support Division (FSD).
