Victim/Witness
While we regret that our contact with you is the result of your being a victim of or witness to a crime, we want you to know that you are important to us. The Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's Office Victim/Witness Services Team is here to provide the help and support you need to deal, as best you can, with the turmoil this crime has caused for you and your loved ones. Our purpose is to assist and inform you, so you can better understand the criminal justice system and the role that you will have to play in it. Staff
The Victim/Witness Services Team was started in February of 1985. One person was employed to do advocacy work and provide her own clerical support. Since those early beginnings, the office has grown to include:

- Cinnamon Shirk - Victim/Witness Advocate
- Dorothy Dewitt - Family Violence Victim Advocate
- Joyce Anderson - Victim/Witness Secretary
- Suzanne Tuter - Victim/Witness Secretary

Crime Victims' Rights
The Victim's Bill of Rights became a law on August 13, 1985.It states that victim's of crime have the following rights:
- Be informed by the prosecutor of the case process including the final disposition of the case
- Appear personally or by counsel at the sentencing and to reasonably express his or her views concerning the seriousness of the crime and the need for restitution
- Be notified of and have the right to appear at parole hearings
- Be notified when a court proceeding will not go as scheduled
- Be provided with information regarding protection if needed
- Be provided with information regarding financial assistance and other social services available
- Request restitution as an element in the final disposition of the case
- Be notified of where to apply for and receive witness fees
- Be provided with a secure waiting area
- Receive prompt property return of articles not needed for law enforcement or prosecution purposes
- Request intercession with employers and creditors for court time
- A prompt disposition of the case
- Transportation if needed
- Child care if needed
- Information regarding governmental or private remedies

Docketline
This service is provided by our team to assist you in knowing if the case you have been subpoenaed for will go as scheduled.
To access Docketline, please call: (417) 868-4082 or 1-800-552-0911 the evening prior to your designated court date. The cases that will be listed on the Docketline will be the cases that will not be going the next day. If your case is not heard on Docketline, please plan on coming to court at your designated time. For cases that are listed on Docketline, you will receive a new subpoena, once a new date has been set for your case.

- all hours - (Weekends)
