History of Greene County's Senior Tax Fund
In April 2005, Greene County, MO voters approved a levy tax of $0.05 per hundred dollars of assessed valuation in order to provide services to persons aged 60 and older in the county.
In June 2005, Greene County Commissioners established a Board of Directors of the Senior Citizens’ Services Fund Tax Board, consisting of 7 directors who each serve 4 years and are appointed by the Commission.
The Board uses the Senior Citizens’ Service Fund to provide services and programs which will improve the health, nutrition and quality of life of persons in Greene County aged 60 and older.
