Public Safety Collaborative (PSC)
The Public Safety Collaborative (PSC) serves the citizens of Springfield-Greene County by providing a collaborative opportunity for public safety organizations, citizens concerned about public safety issues, and others who want to identify and resolve unmet public safety needs within Springfield-Greene County.
Among PSC successes are its contributions to the law enforcement tax initiative passed in 1997. This initiative included the new Greene County Jail, the 800 MHz Trunked Radio system that went into operation in 2002, and approximately 100 new law enforcement officers, and funds to help sustain much of these improvements. The PSC worked nearly 4 years on these issues prior to them being presented to voters by community leaders.
Multi-Agency Communications Plan
The Multi-Agency Communications Plan was created to clearly outline and delineate the use of the Springfield-Greene County 800 TRS during events that require multiple agencies to respond. This is a requirement under the NIMS guidelines. It is hoped that all agencies that utilize the 800 TRS will understand the guidelines outlined and followed when necessary.
