SENIOR CITIZEN'S SERVICES FUND


The Senior Citizen's Services Fund exists by virtue of a vote of the Citizens of Greene County, Missouri in April, 2005. The voters approved a five cent per hundred assessed valuation property tax levy to provide services to citizens of Greene County 60 years of age and older. it is anticipated that an amount in excess of $1,500,000 per year will accrue from this tax.

The law provides for a seven person administrative Board to be appointed by the Greene County Commission. The function of this Board shall be to provide programs or add support to existing programs which improve the quality of life of persons 60 years of age or older.

The Board shall advertise for and contract with providers of services for the elderly. The board shall oversee the contracting agencies in regard to compliance with the terms of the contracts awarded.
